Numbers is Apple's spreadsheet editor. It's an alternative to Excel and Google Sheets. It is free to use, runs natively on all Macs, iPads, and iPhones, and can be used in a browser (much like Google Sheets). Windows and Linux users can use Numbers as a web app in their browser of choice.
We have written a short blog post on the security and privacy advantages of Apple Numbers over other options.
In short, Apple's recent deployment of end-to-end encryption for iCloud Documents means that Numbers users can now sync their trading data across devices and edit it seamlessly on multiple screens while retaining complete privacy.
Besides these important considerations, for Mac users, Numbers is significantly faster than all other options. It's also cleaner and a whole lot nicer to look at.
Apple has been consistently adding capabilities to Numbers, and it's now a truly powerful application.

Our tools support all coins listed on CoinMarketCap which also provide the price feeds integrated into our trackers.
To be more precise, smol compute builds on top of Apple's native integration of Yahoo Finance data, ensuring robust and accurate price feeds are used for your portfolio. The crypto data integration is also powered by Yahoo Finance with live prices provided by CoinMarketCap. This allows us to support virtually all stocks, ETFs, coins, and tokens.

You can, of course, always manually enter your DEX trades into the smol Portfolio Tracker the same way you do with CEX trades. We are working on DEX support for batch trade-entries via the smol Formatter.
-
Cryptocurrencies trade 24/7 and Numbers currently updates their prices continually throughout the day.
For traditional markets, Yahoo currently limits the updates to the most recent "close" price, i.e., the price of the asset at the end of the previous trading day.

At the moment, the smol Portfolio Tracker is primarily designed for spot trading. A trading journal specifically designed for margin trading is in the works.

smol compute is a labour of love and a very personal endeavour.
When we went looking for a good tool to privately record our trades and manage our portfolios, what we found left us frustrated (solutions that fell short on privacy, whose data and calculations were often unreliable, were non-customizable, and most had terrible UI).
After testing many options, one of us finally started building his own tool and sharing it with friends. That tool grew over the next 3 years. While it was not the original intent, its maker decided to polish it and make it available for purchase. Selling it allows the developer to continue adding new features, offer support, maintain detailed documentation on Gitbook, produce video tutorials, etc.
Looking ahead, we'd love to integrate onchain data, Formatter support for DEXes, add more automations, etc.
The tools made available here are not meant to reinvent the wheel, but to execute straightforward tasks reliably and accurately while keeping you in control, hence their name, smol compute.
Our sincere hope is that our tools save you the trouble of having to build your own from scratch. ❤️
